Ahead of the new academic year, nearly 450,000 Kazakhstani schoolchildren are set to receive targeted financial aid to get ready for classes. The assistance is distributed under the national Universal Compulsory Education Fund, running from August 1 to September 30, according to the Ministry of Education.

Local governments have allocated around 23 billion tenge to cover essentials like school uniforms, footwear, and stationery. The baseline payout is set at 50,851 tenge per student, though regional authorities may offer higher sums depending on local budget capacities.

Eligible recipients include orphans, children left without parental care, and students from low-income families receiving targeted social assistance. Support is also extended to children facing exceptionally difficult life circumstances.

To secure the funding, parents or legal guardians must submit an application alongside supporting documents directly to the child's school administration.
