Astana LRT: Travel Time from Airport to Railway Station Revealed

Once the Astana LRT (Light Rail Transit) system becomes operational, passengers will be able to travel from the International Airport to the "Nurly Zhol" Railway Station in approximately 40 minutes.

According to official data from City Transportation Systems (CTS), the key technical specifications and passenger service standards for the new transit network have been finalized.

Key Project Metrics:

• Operating Speed: Trains will maintain an average speed of 40–50 km/h.
• Frequency: Intervals between trains will range from 5 to 10 minutes.
• Stations: The line will consist of 18 stations in total.
• Efficiency: Travel time between individual stations will vary from 1.5 to 3 minutes.

Example: A trip from Nazarbayev University to the "Syganak" station will take just 12 minutes.
Passenger Amenities and Infrastructure

CTS experts emphasize that the LRT system is designed to significantly alleviate traffic congestion in the Yesil and Nura districts.

The project includes several modern features:

• Advanced Payment System: Integration of electronic ticketing and real-time train tracking via an online map.
• Station Facilities: Terminals will be equipped with ticket vending machines, waiting areas, and sanitary facilities.
• Inclusivity: Escalators and elevators will be installed to ensure full accessibility for people with disabilities and passengers with limited mobility.

Currently, fare prices are in the final approval stage. The project is expected to enhance the capital's transport potential and elevate the public transit system to a new international standard.
