Astana 2035: Senator Bibigul Zheksenbay Discusses Astana's Development Plans
Member of the Senate of the Parliament, Bibigul Zheksenbay, held a meeting with the team of the "Astana General Plan" Research and Design Institute to discuss pressing issues of urban planning policy. The central theme of the dialogue was the development of the capital as a modern, safe, and comfortable metropolis with a high quality of life, aligning with the recent priorities set by the Head of State.

During the meeting, special attention was paid to the amendments made to the Astana General Plan until 2035 and projects for the formation of the metropolitan agglomeration. The Senator emphasized the importance of shaping the city’s architectural appearance in accordance with "design code" requirements, developing social infrastructure, and modernizing the transport system.

A significant portion of the discussion focused on the systemic legislative changes adopted by Parliament over the last two years. Specifically, amendments to the Land Code are designed to ensure more efficient use of resources and increase transparency in the allocation of land plots. According to the new regulations, priority will be given to:
- Preserving and expanding green zones;
- Creating an inclusive urban environment;
- Reducing the load on public transport.
In conclusion, Bibigul Zheksenbay noted that urban planning should not be limited to official documents but must be based on the actual needs of the people.
"Our goal is not just to communicate passed laws, but to work together with the professional community to develop legislative initiatives focused on human interests," the Deputy stated.
The implementation of the General Plan will prioritize the feedback and suggestions of Astana residents, particularly regarding landscaping, the creation of public spaces, and the placement of social facilities.
