What fines are stipulated by law?

According to the Astana City Architecture Department, illegal alterations to load-bearing walls entail administrative liability under Article 322 of the Code of Administrative Offenses. Additionally, the apartment owner is issued an order to eliminate the violations.

• Officials, small businesses, and NGOs — 90 MCI (353,880 KZT)

• Medium businesses — 150 MCI (589,800 KZT)

• Large businesses — 300 MCI (1,179,600 KZT)

If the actions could create a risk of building collapse:

• Individuals — 80 MCI (314,560 KZT)

• Officials, small businesses, and NGOs — 180 MCI (707,760 KZT)

• Medium businesses — 250 MCI (983,000 KZT)

• Large businesses — 500 MCI (1,966,000 KZT)

At the end of November, a notable post on Threads drew attention: in a one-room apartment in Astana, the kitchen was moved to a glazed balcony, where a stove, sink, and cabinets were installed. The photo surprised social media users, who asked whether this was legal.

“At present, no unscheduled inspection has been conducted regarding the indicated apartment, since no official request has been submitted. If a request is received, the department will carry out an inspection, and a decision will be made based on the results,” the department stated.
