An AI Platform Helps Detect Neurodevelopmental Differences in Children at an Early Stage

In many countries around the world, early detection and support for children with autism and other neurodevelopmental disorders remains a pressing issue. According to experts, a shortage of specialists, high diagnostic costs, and long waiting lists limit children’s access to early intervention, Reuters reports.
One innovative solution to this problem is an AI platform developed by the UAE-based company Jade. The platform uses 2D and 3D games designed for children to track eye movements, reaction time, and behavioral patterns. The collected data is processed through machine learning models to help identify autism spectrum disorders, ADHD, and other neurodevelopmental differences at an early stage.

In Brazil and the UAE, municipal and government institutions are using the AI platform to provide diagnostics and personalized intervention services to socially disadvantaged children. The platform is currently available in English, Spanish, and Portuguese, while Arabic and French versions are under development.
Jade’s founder, data scientist Ronaldo Kochin, was inspired by his own child’s neurodivergent experience. The platform prioritizes early detection, continuous monitoring, and accessibility.
In 2026, the company won the $1 million Zayed Sustainability Prize in the Health category. In the near future, Jade plans to expand across the Middle East, Latin America, and Europe, establishing partnerships with government institutions, schools, and healthcare organizations.

Experts note that AI platforms can offer an effective way to provide early support for children. However, their long-term role will depend not only on technological capabilities but also on sustainable investment, regulation, and integration with clinical and educational practices.
