The Almaty City Administration has announced the launch of two major technological projects totaling approximately 80,000 square meters to address the city's shortage of IT infrastructure. The announcement was made by Deputy Akim Olzhas Smagulov during a briefing at the GETIX exhibition.

According to the development plan, the first project—Almaty Hub—is scheduled to open by November of this year. This 10,000-square-meter facility will be located in a reconstructed building and dedicated entirely to IT and technology companies.

The second and more ambitious project is the Almaty AI Park. Set to be built from the ground up on a 7-hectare site, the park will span 70,000 square meters—a size comparable to 10 football fields. This complex is designed to be a comprehensive ecosystem, featuring not only office spaces but also infrastructure for recreation and 24/7 collaboration among specialists.

The Deputy Akim emphasized that while one-third of all IT startups in Kazakhstan are founded in Almaty, the city currently lacks a unified infrastructure to integrate them. The establishment of these new hubs aims to resolve this deficit, strengthening Almaty’s position as a regional technological center. Additionally, the project will introduce specialized incentives and benefits for startups.
