Almaty Student Wins National Award for Environmental Project

Bakhytnur Bagasharov, an 11th-grade student at SDL School in Almaty, won first place at the national “Best Scientific Project” competition. The young researcher was awarded a “Best Scientific Project Author” badge and a diploma for his achievement.

Bakhytnur presented his project titled “CleanAir EDU – a smart device for classroom air purification.” The initiative was recognized as a modern environmental solution aimed at improving air quality in educational settings. The device operates on the Arduino platform and uses specialized sensors. It automatically analyzes classroom air composition and activates the air purification mechanism when necessary.

The project was supervised by Ayjan Satybaldieva, PhD, a geography teacher. She guided her student’s scientific research and supported his work in the areas of environmental culture and sustainable development principles.
