On December 17, an Air Astana flight KC 851, operating on the Almaty–Astana route, returned to the airport at the crew’s decision due to an unusual odor detected in the aircraft’s air conditioning system.

To ensure flight safety, the aircraft commander decided to return to Almaty. The landing was carried out safely at 07:40 local time.

Passengers were offered hot and cold drinks, as well as snacks. They were later transported to Astana on another aircraft at 10:15.

A technical inspection of the aircraft will be conducted according to established procedures regarding this incident.
