Aktobe has become one of the first cities in the country to utilize artificial intelligence. Approximately 20 AI-powered surveillance cameras have been installed throughout the city.

These cameras are designed to detect instances of unauthorized dumping of bulky waste, including construction debris, household appliances, and other large-scale refuse. The system operates in real-time, functioning 24/7 without weekends or holidays.

Once a violation is captured, the information is automatically transmitted to the Operational Control Center of the Aktobe Region Police Department. The system is capable of identifying the vehicle, recording the exact moment the waste is dumped, and relaying the data to duty operators for immediate response.

Since the beginning of 2026, the system has identified approximately 70 violations. In each case, measures were taken in accordance with legislation regarding the cleanliness of populated areas and municipal improvement rules.

In Kazakhstan, the illegal dumping of waste and pollution of urban areas carry administrative liability. Sanctions vary depending on the volume and nature of the waste: individuals face fines for unauthorized dumping of bulky waste, while legal entities and individual entrepreneurs are subject to significantly higher penalties.
