Accounts of Debt-Free Kazakhstanis Frozen: Reason Revealed

Accounts of some citizens in Kazakhstan who have no tax arrears have been blocked, according to the State Revenue Committee. The department attributed this to a technical glitch that occurred during the automation of desk (cameral) audits.
• During the implementation of a new methodology, debit operations on bank accounts were unjustifiably suspended for certain notifications.
• The error is being corrected, and previously imposed restrictions are currently being lifted.
• Accountant Rabiyam Serikbayeva drew attention to the issue, noting that the situation has affected a significant number of citizens.
The State Revenue Committee stated that they are continuing to fully automate the desk audit process. This initiative is aimed at:
1. Reducing human influence.
2. Eliminating corruption risks.
3. Increasing the efficiency of tax administration.
The department apologized for the inconvenience caused and announced that the work to lift all restrictions on the affected accounts would be fully completed by April 10.
