Access to Kokshetau Mountain, the highest and most popular peak in the Burabay National Nature Park, has been temporarily restricted. Authorities have implemented this measure due to the "extreme" level of fire danger in the region.

According to the Akmola region’s iKomek service, the restriction was introduced to ensure the safety of visitors and to preserve the unique nature of the national park.

Specialists decided to take this step following an incident on June 17, when a forest fire broke out in the park territory due to a lightning strike. Currently, a storm warning has been issued for the Akmola region until June 24, with temperatures expected to reach as high as +38°C. Under such intense heat, the risk of fire in mountainous areas is assessed as extremely high.

The administration has warned that all routes leading to Kokshetau Mountain will remain closed until the fire risk subsides. These restrictions will remain in effect until weather conditions in the region stabilize. Citizens planning their vacations are urged to strictly follow safety rules and adjust their routes in advance.

The national park management reminds the public that lighting fires and using any form of open flame within the forest area is strictly prohibited. Individual responsibility is the key to protecting nature from disaster.
