Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Olzhas Bektenov has announced that the modernization of existing infrastructure and the construction of a new, state-of-the-art mountain ski resort will commence this spring within the Almaty mountain cluster.

Currently, the region is equipped with 17 cable cars and 53 kilometers of ski runs. Under the new modernization project, an additional 46 cable cars will be installed, and the total length of the ski slopes will be expanded by 221 kilometers.

"Construction and installation work will begin this spring," the Head of Government specified.

Furthermore, the Prime Minister noted that to improve transport accessibility, the construction of new airports in the villages of Katon-Karagay, Zaysan, and Kenderli will be completed this year. These measures are expected to provide a significant impetus to the development of tourism in these respective regions.
