15-Year-Old Boy Killed Protecting Mother During Domestic Dispute in Kostanay Region

A 15-year-old boy was fatally stabbed while attempting to defend his mother during a violent domestic conflict in the city of Zhitikara, Kostanay region, on April 25. According to the Regional Police Department, the dispute erupted between a married couple, resulting in a 37-year-old woman sustaining multiple knife wounds. The woman’s teenage son from a previous marriage intervened to protect her from the assailant, but he sustained fatal injuries and died at the scene.

Following the incident, authorities initiated criminal proceedings under charges of murder and attempted murder. The suspect, the woman’s husband, has been apprehended and placed in a temporary detention center. Police officials are currently conducting a comprehensive investigation to establish the full circumstances surrounding the tragedy.
