15 Additional Train Routes to Be Launched in Kazakhstan for Summer Season

Fifteen additional railway routes will be launched across Kazakhstan during the summer vacation period to serve high-demand tourist destinations. Minister of Transport Nurlan Sauranbayev announced this during a government session.

According to the Minister's report, the additional passenger trains will operate on the following routes:

 Astana – Dostyk

 Almaty – Dostyk

 Semey – Dostyk

 Oskemen – Dostyk

 Karaganda – Balkhash

 Almaty – Semey

 Aktobe – Astana

 Nurly Zhol – Shymkent

Official data shows that 10 out of the 15 newly organized routes will serve the coast of Lake Alakol, where passenger traffic traditionally surges during the summer season. These measures will generate over 400,000 additional passenger seats for the holiday period.

Earlier, the Ministry of Transport released estimated airfare prices to Alakol and Balkhash for the upcoming summer months. The implementation of measures to develop the transportation sector will continue as planned.
