In Rudny and Kachar, 1,300 students have been moved to remote learning due to an increase in cases of acute respiratory viral infections (ARVI) and influenza, Qrnews.kz reports, citing the information portal Город.”

According to the city’s education department, as of November 24, 52 classes are conducting lessons remotely, with a total of 1,301 students.

It is worth noting that with the onset of the autumn cold season, Kazakhstan is experiencing a sharp rise in cases of Hong Kong flu — a strain of the influenza A (H3N2) virus, first identified in 1968. Unlike the usual seasonal flu, this strain causes more severe illness and spreads more rapidly.
